We deliver rail engineering to the transport industry, which includes major rail network owners and private rail operators. Services include civil design, engineering advisory, defect identification and mapping, operational modelling, asset management and transport and logistics studies.

Lycopodium works with a variety of clients to develop architectural & engineering designs for Commercial, Industrial & Public buildings. We collaborate with our clients and specialist consultants to develop an understanding of processes, logistics, spatial, security and technological requirements and budget / time constraints, leading to the creation of built forms that improve community amenity and integrate within the surrounding urban environment and public realm.

Our services in this area cover a broad range from technical advice for building / site selection through to workplace planning. We bring to each project our analytical and problem solving skills to design efficient, safe and flexible environments that improve productivity and minimise waste. With all projects, we imbed sustainable design principles / technologies, construction efficiencies, low maintenance and operational simplicity in an effort to reduce costs and future proof the project’s value.

We believe that for public facilities to be successful, they must be created and executed with a clear vision and understanding between natural, cultural, sustainable, economic and functional components. Earthworks

Earthworks

Lycopodium infrastructure has a vast amount of knowledge when it comes to both bulk and details earthworks design. Bulk earthworks design involves reshaping the existing terrain to a uniform grade to suit the project requirements. This is the stage during which the project would have the majority of the cut and fill volumes calculated, leaving the design well on its way to looking like the completed product. Bulk earthworks design is typically used for the construction of urban public open spaces, subdivisions / new development early works, and mining facilities.

Detailed earthworks refer to the more refined and finishing works, and are generally undertaken post bulk earthworks. These works might include earth pads and local grading on top of which facilities will be constructed, pedestrian paths and cycle ways, drainage open channels and sumps, smoothing between roads/car parks and existing terrain, and any tie-in works.
Hydrology

Hydrology

With our proven track record in providing hydrological design services on a number of local government, private and resourcing projects both in Australia and overseas, our drainage team exudes a wealth of experience in surface hydrology such as analysing catchments, flood mapping and undertaking hydrological studies and reviewing and designing flood protection features.

Our team also have a range of experience in producing solutions for smaller catchment areas through drainage modelling, pipe and pit network design and open channel design including diversion drains.
Utilities

Utilities

Experienced in undertaking the design of an array of utilities such as water reticulation, sewer reticulation and rising mains including pumping station design and electrical infrastructure(through group subsidiary, ECG Engineering).

In the water and sewerage market sectors, Lycopodium has worked on a number of Water Corporation projects in the Perth Metropolitan Area and has strong familiarity with the Corporation’s guidelines and codes of practice having been involved in the design of assets from concept phase through to construction. We have also been involved in the design of water and sewage infrastructure on a number of resource related projects, both within Australia and overseas, including specification of packaged water and sewage treatment plants.

ECG Engineering has the ability to deliver management or turnkey solutions for power stations or to increase power capacity as well as being able to provide integrated engineering services for network planning and studies. ECG Engineering has experience in delivering projects in Australia, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas.
