City of Wanneroo

Service: Architecture | Project: Kingsway Baseball & Softball Club Facilities | Location: Wanneroo

This project involved the redevelopment of a community facility. Lycopodium’s architectural consultants produced a stunning, minimalistic building for players and spectators to simultaneously enjoy.

Project Overview

For this project, Lycopodium provided architectural services in the redevelopment of clubrooms and supporting facilities for the local baseball and softball community.

Redevelopments include:

  • Main halls with access to a commercial kitchen and canteen
  • Storage facilities
  • Glazed gallery and toilets
  • Direct access from hall to the spectator area and rear barbecue
  • Courtyard separation of change rooms and equipment stores

Lycopodium’s updated design has retained the existing trees in and around the buildings, creating a peaceful and natural environment.

The materials used for this project include rustic brickwork and rusted perforated screening. These materials are not only low maintenance, but will help to create a relaxed atmosphere.

Sustainable Design

The redeveloped facility contains LED lighting, water efficient fixtures, low VOC paints, solar roof panels, movement sensors for lighting and a natural, cooling alternative ventilation system.

Cost Efficient

By refining the construction approach, Lycopodium was able to successfully incorporate all selected materials in the design whilst meeting strict budget requirements.
