ARA Innovation Award Winner

ARA CEO, Danny Broad, recently awarded Rebecca Coffey from Lycopodium the Permanent Way Institution Young achiever Award at the Australasian Rail Industry Awards.

'Rebecca Coffey from Lycopodium was awarded the Permanent Way Institution Young Achiever Award for her contribution as Project Manager for developing the Maintenance and Inspection App, allowing users to create, maintain and inspect track and structural defects. The unique part of this app allows users to operate it in rural areas without mobile phone coverage.'

“The App does this by using the "cloud". The application automatically updates when it comes within mobile phone range."

“The app also is paperless, providing defect and inspection history in the field. The app is linked to GPS and inspection competencies to ensure authentication,“ concluded Danny Broad, Chief Executive Officer, Australasian Railway Association.
